Hey! I'm Sam Hutto
A recent SDSU graduate, a lifelong learner and emerging hospitality professional.

Here’s My Story:
My name Sam Hutto… I am a graduate from the Hospitality and Tourism Management program at San Diego State University. On this site you are gonna take a dive with me into my journey through hospitality- and stay tuned for what is yet to come!
My work journey and professional experience started when I was 11 years old. I was ‘that neighbor kid’ with the weekly lawn mowing schedule of 15 lawns and had monopolized my block… By the time I was able to drive- I was also ready for the next step with a part time job. I eventually started working my way through a local Italian restaurant and growing into a management role at 17 years old. This was an eye opener to what would soon become the start to my hospitality career.
Fast forward to 2018 with me as I found myself going to school in San Diego studying business management…. Having the time of my life, suddenly I was a fish swimming in the sea when Covid-19 erupted around the world in 2020… I found myself making lemonade from lemons and soon found myself working for the newest and largest estate grown vineyard in San Diego county, Monserate Winery. I took a brief leave from my education to pursue experience and help develop a brand new winery with impact in mind.
Right now, I see myself as someone in transition, but in a really exciting way. I came into hospitality through restaurants and wine service, where I learned how to connect with people, handle pressure, lead through service, and create experiences that people remember. Over time, I realized I am not just passionate about hospitality itself, but about the leadership, operations, and the way great experiences are built from the inside out. I’m someone who values relationships, energy, and growth. I also think I bring a younger, trend-aware perspective into hospitality, especially around service, culture, and the future of guest experiences. At this point in my life, I am focused on learning as much as possible and finding ways to leave every place better than I found it.
As you browse, you will find snip its of my professional experience, coursework, and more about my ever-changing passions… I would love to know what brought you here- please don’t be shy and touch base with me through the contact form below.
